Yes, often one needs a personalized approach that can identify and help the clients to examine options for: • addressing emotional and behavioral issues that trigger weight problems • dietary strategies • physical activity
Apart from body weight issues, what other lifestyle issues are there?
Lifestyle health issues include chronic diseases like: • heart disease • diabetes • some cancers, such as lung cancer and cancer of the liver • obesity • high blood pressure • mental health conditions like anxiety and depression. These diseases are linked to unhealthy habits such as: • a poor diet • lack of physical activity • smoking • excessive alcohol consumption. These problems are often preventable or manageable by adopting healthier lifestyle choices. Stress and cancer progression or recurrence: “Stress can wreak havoc in many ways. The body’s natural stress response, designed to protect it from perceived threats, can stay on when it shouldn’t. This can happen for many reasons, including trauma and other stressors. The long-term activation of the stress response system and the overexposure to stress hormones can disrupt almost all your body’s processes, and some research suggests there could be a link between stress hormones and cancer progression and recurrence.”
